scoopcamp-Keynote-Speaker Assaf Sagy on publishing and his job at Playbuzz

At Hamburg's innovation-conference for media, scoopcamp, Assaf Sagy is going to deliver a keynote. Ahead of the event in September, we asked him to share some of his views on publishing.

He is Vice President of International Markets at Playbuzz: Assaf Sagy. His job is the strategic- and business development in Europe, Middle East & Africa as well as in Latin America and Asia-Pacific. At scoopcamp, the innovation-conference for media by nextMedia.Hamburg and dpa, he is going to deliever a keynote. As an appetizer ahead of the event, we asked him to complete some sentences on his job and publishing.

Playbuzz enables publishers and brands to create engaging, interactive content via formats such as quizzes. My all-time favorite is…
- the flip card format and this item by TIME because I’m a science geek and finally, there’s a way to make what many would see as a dull topic, more accessible.

Publishers and brands that work with Playbuzz can benefit from…
- increased time spent on-site, share rates, completion rates and a content gallery of ready-made items relevant to their audience that can be seamlessly embedded on-site. Playbuzz also provides sponsored content opportunities for advertisers interested in creating interactive native ads users actually want to engage with.

As a Vice President of International Markets I often…
- travel for meetings. Whenever I’m in a new city, I try to run everyday to absorb the vibe.

Everyone loves good content with gamification. Monetizing it…
- means developing sponsored content that is as intriguing and engaging as interactive editorial content, rather than being an ad that hinders the UX.

Our original focus was helping publishers create content that shares well via Facebook. Since then,…
- our mission has expanded to helping publishers engage users wherever they are - whether that be on their properties or external third party platforms.

Talking about apps: The first app I open in the morning is…
- WhatsApp.

And the last thing I do on my smartphone before I fall asleep…
- is watch videos on Facebook.

If I had to make a list of three things I love about working for Playbuzz, it would be…
- my inspirational colleagues, my role helping publishers engage users at such a critical time, and the opportunity to immerse myself in different cultures.
