You want to work on your business idea in an innovative and networked environment without office costs? With the Workspace Funding, we offer free workspaces for startups and founders in the field of content and technology.

In our new Space in Hamburg’s Speicherstadt, we bring the content and tech industry together in one place and offer space for informal exchange and relaxed get-togethers in addition to our content-driven programs and regular events. Start-ups, founders and people working on a concrete project around content and technology with digital business models (including MediaTech, AdTech, CreativeTech, MusicTech, GamesTech, etc.) can apply for Workspace Funding – regardless of whether they are in the early stage or expansion phase.

We value diversity and welcome all applications – regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic or social background, religion, disability, age and sexual orientation.

The application for the Workspace Funding is permanently available via this online form.

The jury, consisting of representatives of Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft and its initiatives, nextMedia.Hamburg, Cross Innovation Hub, Gamecity Hamburg, Beratung & Weiterbildung and Design Zentrum Hamburg, continuously reviews the applications received and selects the applications on the first Thursday of each month. Within one week after the jury meeting, the applications are accepted or rejected. In the case of an acceptance, funding starts on the next possible date and depends on free capacities in the Space.

The selection criteria include industry relevance or added value for the industry, degree of innovation of the product, service or business model as well as the professionalism and viability of the business model.

The program offers a free workplace for working on your own laptop in the Flex Desk area as well as workshop and meeting rooms in Speicherstadt Hamburg, including drinks and internet. As part of the Workspace Funding, you will have the opportunity to make contacts in the media and tech industries and meet decision-makers from the creative and cultural sectors, politics, business and research. The Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft and its initiatives regularly organize numerous events, themed quarters and workshops, almost all of which are open to grantees free of charge. The space also offers the opportunity to host your own events.

As a grantee, you should use the workspace three times a week. You can draw attention to the funding via social media, organize an event as part of a theme week, or get involved in the Space’s programs in some other way. Beyond that, we’d love for you to adhere to the basic philosophy that is lived out at the Space: We work together.

You will receive Workspace Funding for a maximum period of six months.
